In order to stop progressive infection and prevent tooth loss, periodontal therapy is needed. The goals of periodontal therapy are:

  • Eliminate bacterial infection
  • Remove plaque and tartar
  • Correct local contributing factors and bite
  • Address systemic factors
  • Regenerate lost tissue and bone where possible
